Tamil is one of the oldest surviving language still spoken by millions. (guess 2300 years)?

oldest surviving language still spoken by millions. (guess 2300 years)

Yes, Tamil is one of the oldest surviving languages in the world and has a rich literary tradition dating back at least 2,300 years. The exact age of the Tamil language is still a subject of debate among scholars, with some estimating that it could be even older, possibly dating back as far as 5,000 years. However, it is widely accepted that Tamil has a long and continuous history, with an extensive body of literature and a unique and complex grammar system. Today, Tamil is spoken by more than 80 million people around the world, primarily in India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia

Tamil can generate words as per evolving science?

Yes, Tamil is a highly adaptable language and has the capability to create new words to describe concepts and ideas related to evolving fields like science and technology. This is because Tamil has a unique system of word formation that allows for the creation of new words by combining existing roots and affixes in a logical and structured manner. This feature of Tamil makes it a highly dynamic and living language that can keep pace with the changing needs of society and the world around us. In fact, many modern scientific and technical terms in Tamil have been coined using this method of word formation

example of how Tamil creates new words to describe scientific concepts:

The word "computer" in Tamil is "கணினி" (kaṇiṉi), which is a combination of two words - "கணம்" (kaṇam), meaning "calculation," and "யானை" (yāṉai), meaning "elephant." This combination of words creates a new word that conveys the meaning of a machine that can perform complex calculations, just like an elephant can carry heavy loads.

Similarly, the word "internet" in Tamil is "இணையம்" (iṇaiyam), which is formed by combining the words "இணைய" (iṇaiya), meaning "connect," and "மற்றோர்" (maṟṟōr), meaning "another." This new word conveys the idea of a network that connects different computers and devices to enable communication and information sharing.

These are just a few examples of how Tamil creates new words by combining existing roots and affixes in a logical and structured manner to describe complex scientific and technical concepts.

You can write and speak a language without worry about word pattern like s+v+o or so. The sentence will make sense.

Tamil has a flexible word order, which means that the subject, verb, and object can appear in any order in a sentence and still convey the same meaning. This is because Tamil has a system of case markers and postpositions that indicate the grammatical role of each word in the sentence, regardless of its position.

For example, consider the sentence "நான் உங்களுக்கு ஒரு புது பெயர் சொல்ல வேண்டும்" (Nāṉ uṅkaḷukku oru putu peyar solla vēṇṭum), which means "I have to tell you a new name." The subject "நான்" (nāṉ) meaning "I," appears at the beginning of the sentence, followed by the object "உங்களுக்கு ஒரு புது பெயர்" (uṅkaḷukku oru putu peyar) meaning "a new name for you," in the middle, and the verb "சொல்ல வேண்டும்" (solla vēṇṭum) meaning "have to tell," at the end.

However, you could also rearrange the sentence as "புது பெயர் நான் உங்களுக்கு சொல்ல வேண்டும்" (Putu peyar nāṉ uṅkaḷukku solla vēṇṭum), which means the same thing but with a different word order. This flexibility in word order makes Tamil a very expressive and adaptable language.

Tamil has another importance. That is its Grammar. No other language has a concept of materialism in Grammar. It is termed in Tamil as 'Porulathigaaram'. THOLKAPPIYAM was written by Saint Tholkappiyar. He, in his book, had delivered the organic truth (about six senses and the evolution of mankind) of mankind in the chapter THEORY OF GENES (Marabiyal) under the title Materialism.

Tamil grammar is known for its unique concepts, including the concept of "Porulathigaaram." The term "Porul" refers to substance or matter, and "athigaaram" means arrangement or classification. So "Porulathigaaram" refers to the classification of words based on their substance or meaning.

The Tholkappiyam, written by Saint Tholkappiyar, is considered one of the oldest surviving Tamil grammar works, and it is believed to have been written between the 3rd century BCE and the 3rd century CE. The Tholkappiyam covers various topics related to Tamil grammar, including phonetics, morphology, syntax, and semantics.

One of the unique aspects of Tamil grammar is the concept of "Vinai" or "Verb." Tamil verbs are classified based on their relation to "Porul" or substance. For example, "Vinaiththiribu" is a verb that denotes action or movement, while "Vinaiththodarbu" denotes possession or ownership. This classification system is unique to Tamil grammar and is not found in other Indian languages.

The Tholkappiyam also includes a section on "Marabiyal," which deals with the evolution of mankind and the concept of materialism. The chapter discusses the six senses of human beings and their evolution over time. The concept of materialism in Tamil grammar is considered unique and is not found in other Indian languages.

These are the six main branches of linguistics:

Phonetics: It is the study of the physical properties of speech sounds, including their production, transmission, and perception.

Phonology: It is the study of the sound patterns and the systematic organization of speech sounds in a particular language.

Morphology: It is the study of the structure and formation of words, including the different types of morphemes that make up words.

Syntax: It is the study of the rules and principles that govern the structure of sentences in a language.

Semantics: It is the study of the meaning of words, phrases, and sentences in a language.

Stylistics: It is the study of the use of language in literary texts, including the analysis of literary devices such as metaphor, irony, and allusion.

Etymology is the study of the history and origins of words, including how their meanings and forms have changed over time

Even a common man can create new words with perfect reasoning. Such a simple language it is.

Tamil is a highly flexible language that allows for the creation of new words through a variety of methods, including combining existing words, borrowing words from other languages, and creating words based on sound symbolism. This means that even a non-expert or layperson can create new words with a certain level of logical reasoning and clarity of expression.

Even Tamil has it’s own programming language Ezhil.

Ezhil is a programming language designed to write programs using Tamil words and phrases. It was developed by Muthiah Annamalai, a software engineer from Tamil Nadu, India. The aim of Ezhil is to provide a simple and easy-to-understand programming language for Tamil speakers, especially those who are not familiar with English or other programming languages. The syntax and commands of Ezhil are based on Tamil words and phrases, making it accessible to anyone who can read and write Tamil.

The language which has clear pronunciation. No two letter has the same pronunciation

the Tamil script does have a large number of distinct letters (over 200), and each letter generally corresponds to a specific sound.

Letters are grouped as male/female/transgender based on nature

In Tamil, letters are classified into three genders: masculine, feminine, and neuter. This classification is based on the phonetic properties of the letters. The masculine letters are those that end with a consonant sound, while the feminine letters end with a vowel sound. The neuter letters are those that do not have any specific gender properties.

This gender classification of letters is unique to Tamil and is not found in other languages. It is believed to have originated from the ancient Tamil grammatical tradition, which emphasized the importance of sound and pronunciation in the language.
